The estimated manufacturing production for the first eight months of 2006 increased by 4.6 compared with the first eight months of 2005.
In addition, the estimated seasonally adjusted manufacturing production for the three months ended August 2006 increased by 2.2 percent compared with the previous three months, which is higher than the growth of 0.7 percent reported during the same period in 2005.
The estimated total value of sales of manufactured products at current prices for the three months ended August 2006 increased by 7.9 percent (+R17 951 million), after seasonal adjustment, compared with the previous three months.
