LA Fashion Market's success shows global appeal of modern fashion

The CMC welcomed new temporary resources such as Candice Held Designs, Rock Revival jeans, True Rebel, Hooch, Boy Meets Girl, LTB Jeans and Libertas. The volume of sales that many temporary exhibitors enjoyed propelled them into taking a permanent showroom, "It's been a very lucrative market for me and we have been very encouraged by the volume and quality of buyers we have seen at the CMC," said Shana Landa. "As a result, we are taking permanent space."
Temporary resource Renee Watson from Renee and Co. agrees that this was a beneficial market for her company."It has been an extremely busy market for us.We saw all of our appointments as well as opened up about 30 new accounts."
The LA Fashion Market kicked off with a grand opening party on October 20th that featured music, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The grand opening of the Lounge Co-Op was also celebrated on October 20th from 3:00 - 5:00pm in Suite A223, with a wine bar and DJ, along with a live paintings from artist Jamie Zacarias from 3:00-5:00pm at the L.A. Air line showroom in A218.
"The 2A Co-Op proved to be an extremely successful business model at the LA Fashion Market," said John Kim, General Manager of the California Market Center. "In turn, we have already begun exploring the possibility of expanding that concept in the future."
5B, one of the contemporary wings of the building also received many upgrades this market. To add to the overall energy of the market, 5B was wired for sound and the common area was decorated with new furniture and chic decorative accents.
