Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, USA (INDA) Announces New Activities in India Nonwovens Training Course in January is trade association's first major event in India.

Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, is expanding its reach into India. In a landmark move to grow its global influence, INDA will be organizing two major events in India in 2007.

India is emerging as a textile powerhouse with enormous growth opportunities. With the burgeoning middle class population of over 300 million, there will be an explosion of nonwovens material usage in a myriad of applications such as automotive, construction, roads, wipes, feminine hygiene products and diapers providing a huge market for textile players in India and abroad.

"The professional events are consistent with our mission to promote the value and profitability of the nonwovens/engineered fabrics industry worldwide," said Rory Holmes, INDA's President.

"This is a significant step forward for INDA." As part of INDA's outreach, INDA will be sponsoring a Nonwovens Training Course in Mumbai, India on January 4-5, 2007.

The course is designed specifically for technical, marketing and R&D executives from the textiles/nonwovens industry and students and staff from academia.

It will also help inform potential investors, industrialists and entrepreneurs who wish to start a nonwovens production plant in India.

In order to achieve the goal of promoting the nonwovens industry in India, INDA, USA is striving to work with important Indian agencies like the Textiles Committee and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which are collaborating with INDA in organizing the two day Nonwovens Training course in January.

The Society of Dyers and Colorists-EC, India are also supporting the event. In addition to the Training Course, an INDA Committee with expertise in India and nonwovens is developing a major conference and table-top exhibition in Mumbai in October, 2007.
