Mainland to liberalize business scope for HK permanent residents

Trade and Industry Department, Hong Kong announces that according to the provisions of the "Supplement III to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA)" signed between the Mainland and Hong Kong on June 27 2006, the Mainland will further liberalise the business scope of individually owned stores set up by Hong Kong permanent residents with Chinese citizenship in the Mainland from January 1 2007.

To ensure the smooth implementation of this measure, the Ministry of Commerce has issued a "Notice Concerning Further Liberalising the Business Scope of Individually Owned Stores Set Up by Hong Kong and Macau Residents in the Mainland" to various local offices of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
