The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) announces a two-day seminar entitled, “Basics of Textile Dyeing, Printing and Finishing,” to be held February 2-3, 2007, at the Textiles Committee Auditorium in Mumbai, India.
The event is co-managed by AATCC and Colourage, the magazine for textile wet processing, published by Colour Publications Pvt Ltd in Mumbai.
Colourage and AATCC Review, the international magazine for textile professionals, are joint media partners in presenting the seminar.
“Basics of Textile Dyeing, Printing and Finishing” will cover the introductory technical aspects of preparation, dyeing, printing, chemical finishing, and mechanical finishing. Processing issues of both natural and synthetic fibers and their blends will be discussed.
The program also includes basic process troubleshooting with an emphasis on various wet processing sequences, the causes and solutions to many common finished fabric problems, and the requirements for consistent quality fabrics.
Leon Moser, AATCC's global instructor, will present the seminar. Moser has been a member of AATCC since 1971 and has served on the association's Technical Committee on Research, the Color Measurement Test Methods committee, and committees for Applied Dyeing Theory and Characteristics of Dyes & Applied Dyeing Test Methods.
Moser is a member of numerous international industry associations, advisory boards, and honor societies.He has served as a technical consultant to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
The registration fee for the seminar will be the Indian equivalent of $35 USD for AATCC members and $50 USD for non-members, collected in local currency. Fees include course material and refreshments over two days.
Key textile and academic leaders will provide opening comments for each of the primary seminar topics. AATCC's Executive Vice President will participate, as will officers of the AATCC India Section.
