The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service announced that it is seeking nominees to serve on its Advisory Committee on the Emerging Markets Program.
Committee members must have expertise in international agriculture, trade and development related to emerging market economies.
The committee is composed of 20 representatives who advise USDA on efforts to enhance food and rural business systems in emerging markets, and review funding proposals under the Emerging Markets Program.
The program supports private and governmental technical assistance activities designed to promote U.S. agricultural exports.
Committee members serve without compensation, but will be reimbursed for travel to attend committee meetings.
Appointments expire in two years, but the Secretary of Agriculture may renew an appointment for additional terms.
