Transportation equipment, up eight of the last nine months, had the largest increase, $0.5 billion or 0.7 percent to $68.8 billion.
Nondefense new orders for capital goods in November decreased $0.2 billion or 0.2 percent to $73.7 billion. Shipments increased $1.1 billion or 1.7 percent to $67.5 billion.
Unfilled orders increased $6.2 billion or 1.8 percent to $357.7 billion. Inventories increased $0.2 billion or 0.2 percent to $113.9 billion.
Defense new orders for capital goods in November increased $2.8 billion or 34.2 percent to $10.9 billion. Shipments increased 0.6 percent to $8.2 billion.
Unfilled orders increased $2.6 billion or 1.9 percent to $138.6 billion. Inventories increased 0.3 percent to $14.3 billion.
Revised seasonally adjusted October figures for all manufacturing industries were: new orders, $390.2 billion (revised from $390.3 billion); shipments, $389.3 billion (revised from $389.9 billion); unfilled orders, $666.8 billion (revised from $666.5 billion); and total inventories, $480.6 billion (revised from $481.1 billion).
