There has been a sharp decline in GDP energy intensity and India can look forward to bring in technology that makes Japan the most energy efficient country in the world, said Mr. V Raghuraman, Principal Advisor and Chief Coordinator; Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, CII. He said that India is taking new step towards changes in environment through super-critical technology in power generation from Japan.
India can become the next major manufacturing hub for nuclear technology with Japanese collaboration, he said. India can also work together in development of solar photovoltaic technology along with economical light-emitting diode (LED), said Mr. Raghuraman.
Japanese technology can provide India consumer friendly products to compete in the global market and create energy efficient technology, he added.
Japan's FDI to India will amount to around US$ 5.5 billion over five years from 2006 to 2010 only by totaling 27 FDI projects, said Mr. V K Mathur, CMD, Inapex Pvt Ltd. He said that Dedicated Freight Corridor and Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor of two governments will lead the economic partnership of two countries to a new trajectory of intensive growth.
He also mentioned that Japanese ODA will remain largest in the country and it has helped India to build the key development institutions to strengthen the country's progress.
