Exports up by over 18%

The exports during July 2007 were valued at US $ 12494.11 million, which was 18.52 % higher than the level of US $ 10542.14 million during July 2006. In rupee terms, exports touched Rs. 50493.57 crore, which was 3.10% higher than the value of exports during July, 2006.

Cumulative value of exports for the period April-July 2007 was US$ 46797.61 million (Rs. 191824.22 Crore) as against US$ 39586.71 million (Rs. 181139.67 Crore) during the same period last year.

The Imports during July 2007 were valued at US $ 17508.63 million representing an increase of 20.40 % over the level of imports valued at US $ 14542.21 million in July 2006. In Rupee terms, imports increased by 4.74 %.

Cumulative value of imports for the period April-July, 2007 was US$ 72417.47 million (Rs. 297080.57 Crore) as against US$ 55427.93 million (Rs. 253545.49 Crore) during the same period last year

The Oil imports during July, 2007 were valued at US $ 5048.33 million which was 8.75% higher than oil imports valued at US $ 4642.31 million in the corresponding period last year.

Oil imports during April-July, 2007 were valued at US$ 19878.52 million, which was 5.33% higher than the oil imports of US$ 18873.12 million in the corresponding period last year.

Non-oil imports during July, 2007 were estimated at US $ 12460.30 million which was 25.86% higher than growth on non oil imports of US$ 9899.90 million in July, 2006. Non-oil imports during April-July, 2007 were valued at US$ 52538.95 million which was 43.73% higher than the level of such imports valued at US$ 36554.82 million in April-July, 2006.
