The Standing Committee of the ICAC has given final approval to the Provisional Agenda of the 66th Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) since 1939.
The Agenda can now be officially communicated to governments and representatives of the private sector. The meeting will be held during October 22-26, 2007 in Izmir, Turkey at the Hilton Hotel. The Government of Turkey will host the meeting.
The theme of the 66th Plenary Meeting is Strategies for National Competitiveness. This theme provides opportunities for discussion of problems and identification of best practices confronting policy makers and businesses in adapting to the highly competitive conditions in the cotton and cotton textile economies. Topics will include:

The Organizing Committee in Turkey is planning an ambitious social program, including dinners and a trip to an historical region along the Aegean coast. Approximately 550 participants from 50 countries and 8 international organizations are expected.
