While speaking on the occasion, Dr Surinder Kapur, Chairman, CII Mission for Innovation and Director, CII VLFM Division said 'Indian industry is facing a challenge of making manufacturing attractive to the youngsters.
To meet this challenge the VLFM Division would attempt to make the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing Programme a national level programme and target to develop 500 leaders over the next two to three years”.
Indian industry is facing a major crunch of Visionary Leaders. The Visionary Corporate Leaders for Manufacturing Programme is a flagship programme of the CII VLFM Division.
The aim of the CII VLFM Division will be to scale up the programme to a national level and also innovate on the format to meet the various challenges facing Indian manufacturing industry.
Prof Shoji Shiba, Chief Advisor, CII VLFM Division and an international expert in Breakthrough Management urged the CEOs of companies participating in the VLFM Programme to encourage their nominees to follow the practices being diffused through the VLFM Programme.
He further said “I request you to ensure that the participants diffuse these tools in the company to help build a critical mass of Visionary Leaders with in your companies and for the benefit of the country. “
The companies who nominate participants to the VLFM Programme would automatically become members of the CII VLFM Division and the participants would automatically fall in to the VLFM Alumni fold on completion of the programme.
This Division will build a national level learning community of companies who nominate participants to the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing Programme. The concept of the community is to share their learnings and to learn from each other's experiences.
