'Wikinomics' Dan Tapscott to address at NRF Annual Convention

What happens when online social communities begin to shape business cultures across the world? Business strategist, CEO and author of “Wikinomics” Dan Tapscott will address that and other topics such as product development at the National Retail Federation's 2008 Annual Convention at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Tapscott will speak during the Tuesday morning Super Session, January 15, at 8:30 a.m.

The presentation will be moderated by Mohsen Moazami, Vice President, Internet Business Solutions Group, Retail, Cisco Systems, Inc. Moazami works with management of Global 500 companies to help accelerate their strategic use of technology to increase their business success.

Thomas Kinder, Vice President Customer Business Development, Global Innovation and Strategic Alliances at The Proctor & Gamble Company will also join the discussion that morning.

The session will take a close look at product introductions and the enormous cost retailers undertake when that product fails. Tapscott and Kinder will also discuss the emergence of social networks that shape consumers' buying behaviors and how leading retailers and consumer products companies from around the world have reshaped their innovation development practices for greater success.

NRF's 97th Annual Convention and EXPO will feature presentations from other leading experts on topics such as emotional design, luxury shoppers, retail innovation, employment issues, loss preventionand store design, as well as other influential and educational topics.
