The Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has launched its newly updated Web site now which includes portals for both homeowners and professionals such as architects, builders, designers, city officials, facilities managers and others.
The PAMA URL is the same, but the site was enhanced with improved user-friendly navigation, a slide show featuring residential and commercial awnings, and an expanded photo gallery displaying a wide array of colorful, creative and practical awnings and canopies.
Site visitors can see examples of residential and commercial awnings and canopies; free-standing structures; and illuminated awnings and canopies.
In addition, site visitors can learn about the many benefits of awnings, which include: Enhancing building aesthetics; expanding outdoor living space; protecting people and interior furnishings from UV-rays; and saving energy.
For visitors interested in green building and reducing carbon footprints, the site features an awning energy study, Awnings in Residential Buildings: The Impact on Energy Use and Peak Demand, conducted by the Center for Sustainable Building Research at the University of Minnesota. This study shows the energy savings of residential window awnings in twelve cities across the U.S.
Architects and designers have access to reprints of articles from Fabric Architecture magazine, a publication of the Industrial Fabrics Association International, illustrating how awnings and canopies have added an attractive and practical element on many building types.
