Majority of MSMEs in India are doing very little to protect the environment while running their businesses. According to the recent World Bank report `Strengthening Institutions for Sustainable Growth: Country Environmental Analysis for India' 4.5 million SMEs contribute 40% of industrial production but create 70% of industrial pollution.
