Deputy commissioner inaugurates jute expo in Mysore

A spectacular Jute fair has been organized by the Jute Manufacturers Development Council at the Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in Mysore. The exhibition that started from December 19 will be held daily till the 25th of this month.

Inaugurated by N S Chennappagowda, Deputy Commissioner, the expo displays a vast variety of eco-friendly jute bags, ornaments, floor coverings, handicrafts, dolls, gift articles, wall decoratives, soft luggage, home textiles and lot many other goods made from jute.

More than 25 business enterprises from all corners of the country, participated in the event to display their eco-friendly jute made products.

Jute products have evolved from a time when the traditional Hessian, sacking, CBC, and yarn were the only jute made goods used for common purposes. However, with the intervention of Research and Development as also support from the organized jute sector, newer products have replaced the conventional ones in the market.
