Annual Production increased by 6.6% in June

On an annual basis production for Manufacturing Industries for June 2008 was 6.6% higher than in June 2007. The main contributors to the annual increase were Basic chemicals (+21.7%).

The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for Manufacturing Industries for the three month period April to June 2008 was 3.3% lower than in the preceding three month period.

The “Modern” Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for June 2008 of 10.5% while a decrease of 3.8% was recorded in the “Traditional” Sector.

The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for Manufacturing Industries was 4.6% lower in the three month period April to June 2008 when compared with the preceding three month period. On an annual basis turnover was 1.7% lower when compared with June 2007.
