Several impressive boards will be on display that story about a multitude of textiles, materials and other important components. Attendees will learn about physical properties and benefits of end use for following materials:

• ETFE films and foils
• Polyolefin

Five Steps to a Successful Fabric Structure Experience
Samuel J. Armijos, AIA, Fabritec Structures

Mr. Armijos is Vice President for FabriTec Structures, a brand of USA Shade and Fabric Structures. He is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has a vast background in the tension structure field since 1987.

He has coordinated the design, engineering and construction of a variety of fabric structures around the world from Costa Rica to Bangkok and New York to California. He was a Visiting Professor in the School of Architecture at Philadelphia University and has presented AIA CES programs nationwide. Mr. Armijos is the author of Fabric Architecture: A resource for creative solutions in Shade, Signage and Shelter.

During this session, attendees will learn:

• Research strategies for getting connected to the fabric community
• Sample design sketches for fabric structures
