Vietnamese Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas), has placed a proposal to Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), to enhance supervision on Certificate of Origin granted to 9 sensitive textile and apparel categories, namely category number - 338, 339, 340, 341, 345, 347, 348, 352 and 652.

The motive behind this proposal of VITAS is to cope up with US's supervision on country's textile and garment industry in 2009, and to sustain interest of US importers and retailers in placing orders to Vietnam's manufacturers, for stable and smooth export in coming years.

For effective functioning of C/O and to avoid trade fraud, MOIT has recently forwarded letters to incur constructive ideas from enterprises for time and procedure of C/O granted, which will reduce troubles for enterprises.
