The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT), through the Texbrasil program to stimulate exports and with the support of the Brazilian Export and Investments Promotion Agency, APEX-Brasil, held the second and last stage of the ABIT Circuit in São Paulo: the showroom of companies that went through the ABIT export orientation clinics.
The showroom, which is held after a cycle of lectures about the market in five European and North American countries, aims at exposing the international consultants hired by ABIT to Brazilian products, thus permitting an analysis of each piece according to the European market's perspective.
For Madalena Gehlen Zanchin, from Elegance, participation in the showroom was positive because “it provides a better positioning about their company's products”. Dolores Martins, the Portuguese consultant who lectured about the markets in the Iberian Peninsula stated that the pieces are very close to what is considered adequate for Portuguese buyers.
She analyzed that there are very strong opportunities for the Brazilian products. With regard to the companies that wish to enter the 'private label' market, there will be some problems concerning distance and logistics since they may not be as fast in terms of delivery as other European competitors. However, for fashion products, which are smaller in number, the deliveries could be relatively quick, depending on each company.
Gabriela Esquinca, a consultant and specialist in the Mexican textile market, was impressed. She stated that the applications of stones on blouses and jeans could have a very good market in Mexico.
ABIT stimulates the evolution of the sector coordinating relevant initiatives in the social and environmental areas, besides sponsoring the sustainable growth of the Brazilian textile industry. Within such a context, it is essential for the textile sector to join efforts and multiply convergences and know-how. ABIT embraces such mission and offers the Brazilian textile market all the necessary support to meet the aforementioned goals.
