Washington, DC based The Textile Museum (TM) is going to hold Creating Ottoman Textiles exhibition on November 15, 2005.

The Textile Museum Director Daniel Walker will present a special talk on the exhibition Style and Status: Imperial Costumes from Ottoman Turkey on view at the Arthur M Sackler Gallery.

In the tour of the exhibition, Mr Walker will offer insight into the technique and production of Ottoman silks and velvets during the 16th and 17th centuries.

In 1925 George Hewitt Myers founded The Textile Museum with a collection of 275 rugs and 60 related textiles.

It presents a variety of lectures, workshops, seminars and demonstrations throughout the year. Regular programs include Rug and Textile Appreciation Mornings which are informal sessions on a wide variety of topics led by experts in the field.
