AATCC presents Weaver Award to Richard Aspland & Pramod Shanbhag

He has received the J J Lyons Distinguished Teacher Award, the College of Commerce and Industry Teacher of the Year Award, and the Phi Psi Teacher of the Year Award from Clemson University.

He has also received the Perkin Travel Scholarship, the Textile Research Institute Fellowship, and the Courtaulds Scholarship from Leeds University.

He was elected a Fellow of the Textile Institute and a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists.

He was also awarded AATCC's Chapin Award for service to the Association.

Pramod Shanbhag holds a BS in textile chemistry from the DKTE Textile Institute in India, and an MS in textiles, fiber, and polymer science from Clemson University. He is currently a lab manager/plant chemist for Rockland Industries.

Shanbhag won first place for his poster presentation of 'A Revised Color Rule as a Color Vision Testing Device,' at the 2004 annual meeting of the Inter-Society Color Council.

He has been a member of AATCC since 2004.

In February 1979, the AATCC established an award for the best peer-reviewed paper published annually in the Textile Chemist and Colorist (now AATCC Review).

In 1990, the award was named for J. William Weaver (1916-1990), who was chair of the Textile Chemist and Colorist Editorial Board at the time of his death.
