Recall of IKEA Sultan Heidal spring mattresses

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: IKEA Sultan Heidal spring mattresses
Units: About 1,900
Distributor: IKEA Home Furnishings, of Conshohocken, Pa.

Hazard: The mattresses fail to meet the federal mandatory open flame standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves IKEA Sultan Heidal spring mattresses sold in sizes twin, full, queen and king.

Sold exclusively at: IKEA stores nationwide from June 2007 through April 2010 for between $500 and $1,000.

Manufactured in: Mexico

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the mattresses and contact their local IKEA store for instructions on returning the mattress for a replacement of full refund.
