As per projections of an apex cotton body, the cotton crop in the 2010-11 season is expected to fall and could be the lowest crop in the last 50 years.

As per expectations of Cotton South Africa, cotton output is expected to reach 38,716 bales, down by 14 percent from that attained in the previous year.

This is down by 0.3 percent from the estimation made in June when it announced that cotton production will touch 38,842 bales.
