Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT) announced that it will take Brazilian companies to Heimtextil fair.

The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT), through its program of incentive to exports, Texbrasil, and with the support of APEX-Brasil, will take five Brazilian companies to participate in Heimtextil, the International trade fair for home textiles and commercially used textiles that will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from January 11 to 14, 2006. These five Brazilian companies are: Buddemeyer, Teka, Karsten, Toalhas São Carlos and Buettner.

Also covering the segment of decoration fabrics, Heimtextil is one of the largest fairs of the sector. Its last gathering brought about 3 thousand exhibitors from all over the world and enabled more than 60 contacts of buyers with Brazilian companies.

In order to advertise the Brazilian presence at Heimtextil, ABIT, represented at an institutional stand that will provide support to businessmen, will distribute flyers with the names and locations of each Brazilian company in the fair, as well as individualized gifts, and install illuminated panels at strategic point.

With approximately 30 thousand companies and 1,5 million people working in the textile sector, Brazil is the seventh largest fabric producer in the world. The country is today among the five largest manufacturers of home textiles and commercially used textiles, and the export in this segment increased 7.95% from 2003 to 2004.
