On back of increase in prices of gas, the South Gujarat Textile Processors Association (SDTPA) had recently increased the rates of processing fabrics by 10 percent.

Now these fabric processing units are once again contemplating hiking rates on the back of an increase in prices of dyes and chemicals to the tune of 5-7 percent.

This time the hike could be higher in the range of 10-15 percent, since along with increase in prices of raw materials, transportation costs too have shot up, due to the hike in diesel prices announced by the government.

Fibre2fashion spoke exclusively to Mr Vipul Desai, Secretary, SDTPA, who said that, they are compelled to increase the job charges for processing the raw fabric, due to the increase in the prices of fuels, like gas, oil, diesel and electricity, raw materials like dyes and chemicals.
