American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) plans a Washington, DC fly-in of footwear executives on December 7 for a series of meetings with the European Commission delegation, European embassies and US government officials to discuss the potential impact of the current European dumping investigations against imported footwear on US firms.

The meetings will be held from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson, which is located at the Columbia Square building at 555 13th St., NW (on 13th between E & F).

The current European Commission investigations alleging that China, Vietnam and India have dumped footwear on the European market are likely to come to a head this December.

As a result, US firms could face dumping duties as high as 40-120 percent on the footwear they are selling into Europe as soon as the beginning of the New Year.
