US Census Bureau announced that the combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers' shipments for October, adjusted for seasonal and trading-day differences but not for price changes, was estimated at $1,030.8 billion, up 0.8 percent (±0.2 percent) from September and up 7.6 percent (±0.4 percent) from October 2004.
Manufacturers' and trade inventories adjusted for seasonal variations but not for price changes, were estimated at an end-of-month level of $1,286.0 billion, up 0.3 percent (±0.2 percent) from September and up 4.1 percent (±0.4 percent) from October 2004.
The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of October was 1.25. The October 2004 ratio was 1.29.
The scheduled release dates for 2006 are as follows: January 13, February 14, March 14, April 13, May 11, June 13, July 14, August 11, September 14, October 13, November 14, December 13.
