Tex-Tenn Corp has decided to shutdown its textile plant at Gray, US.

The closure will result in shift of 70 workers.

Kathryn Siefert, Vice President, informed that the decision was taken considering the global trend of moving the production to countries like China.

Tex-Tenn had filed for assistance from the US Department of Labor under the Trade Readjustment Act.

If approved, the employees would be eligible for additional weekly unemployment compensation.

As for now the workers will receive unemployment benefits for maximum 26 weeks.

Tex-Tenn has been in business in Gray for 24 years.

The textile mill produced polyester and acrylic fabrics for all types of markets, including medical, air filtration, after-market automotive carpet and seat covers, polish mitts, wash mitts, saddle pads and pet products.
