RSWM to set up yarn manufacturing unit in Gujarat

Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Limited (RSWM), one of the largest producers and exporters of polyester viscose blended yarn in India, is planning to set up a yarn manufacturing plant in western Indian state of Gujarat by 2015.
 
RSWM, part of the Rs. 55 billion LNJ Bhilwara Group, would invest Rs. 4 billion for setting up a spinning and weaving unit in Gujarat, Mr. ML Jhunjhunwala, President of RSWM Ltd, said.
 
The new unit will increase RSWM’s yarn manufacturing capacity to 12,000 tons per month from the existing 10,000 tons per month.
 
The company plans to install 100,000 spindles in the new fully-automated plant, which will come up in next two-three years, Mr. Jhunjhunwala said.
 
In addition to setting up a yarn manufacturing facility in Gujarat, RSWM also plans to invest another Rs. 6 billion across its textile value chain as a part of its expansion plans.
 
Moreover, the company aims to enhance its market share in fancy yarns for apparels, sewing threads, denim market and technical textiles in Gujarat.
 
RSWM has recently opened a new regional yarn marketing office in Ahmedabad, with an aim to boost its interaction with buyers, so as to offer specialty products and to utilize customer feedback for product innovation, Mr. JC Laddha, Executive Director of the company, said.
 
Last fiscal, RSWM clocked a business of Rs. 1 billion in Gujarat and the company is aiming to achieve Rs. 1.5 billion in revenues from the state during the current fiscal.
