India-based Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the largest polyester yarn producer in the world, which is also counted among the leading petrochemical producers in the world, is open to investing more in Malaysia.

This was stated by RD Udeshi, RIL’s president (Polyester Chain), while speaking to reporters after his meeting with the visiting Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed in Mumbai.

RIL, which already has presence in Malaysia through Recron Malaysia, is on the lookout for investment opportunities in petrochemical and other sectors in which the company has expertise, Mr. Udeshi said.

Dautk Mustapa said the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is an excellent single-pint agency and it is also pro-active in addressing problems like the gas and power situation in the country.

Recron Malaysia is the world’s largest integrated polyester and textile company producing world-class quality of polymers, PET resins, fibres, yarns and fabrics.
