Dress Barn Jan same-store sales up 16%, total sales rises 19%

Women's clothing retailer The Dress Barn Inc has reported January and second quarter sales results.
Total sales for the four-week fiscal period ended January 28, 2006 increased 19 percent to $64.5 million compared to $54.1 million reported for the comparable four-weeks ended January 29, 2005. Comparable store sales increased 16 percent for the month of January.
Total sales for the fiscal second quarter ended January 28, 2006 increased 55 percent to $311.0 million compared to $200.1 million reported for the comparable fiscal period ended January 29, 2005. This year's quarterly sales results include Maurices, which was acquired in January 2005. Comparable store sales increased 10 percent for the fiscal second quarter.
Comparable store sales by brand for the fiscal periods rose 16 percent in January 2006.
