Interstoff Asia Hong Kong to highlight sustainable textile

On the second day, there follows a series of seminars on certification and standards, with speakers from organisations such as the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Imo Control China, Testex, Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) and the WWF. Shirley Han from GOTS will, for instance, show what advantages organic textiles have for buyers, manufacturers, designers, teachers and students. Dr. Jean-Pierre Haug, from Testex, will take a closer look at the Oeko-Tex Standard.

So that buyers can more easily find those exhibitors, who are offering ecologically and socially optimised products, Interstoff Asia Essential has developed a labelling system in conjunction with the consultancy firm, Systain. The exhibitors are categorised with labels in four different colours, which indicate the extent to which they take account ecological and / or social aspects in the manufacture of their textiles.
