Industrial polyester supplier Performance Fibers has relocated its corporate headquarters and 50 local employees from Colonial Heights to downtown Richmond, Virginia.

The move is part of the ongoing transformation of Performance Fibers, which became a stand-alone affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc after its divestiture from Honeywell International in December 2004.

As part of the transition agreement, Performance Fibers has maintained office space in the Honeywell Technical Center on Woods Edge Road for over a year. It has moved all of the staff in a variety of executive, commercial, finance, technical and administrative positions to the new downtown headquarters in the Merrill Lynch building at 707 E. Main St., Suite 1800.

“Our new location, in the heart of Richmond's financial and legal community, reflects the company's position as one of the global leaders in the industrial fibers industry,” said Greg Rogowski, President and CEO of Performance Fibers. “It puts us closer to the Richmond International Airport, making travel to our global customers more accessible.”

“We chose downtown Richmond because, like our business, it has great vitality and potential for growth,” he said. “We look forward to being active members of the community.”

Man-made industrial fibers and fabrics producer Performance Fibers formed in December 2004, the business was formerly part of Honeywell International.

Sun Capital affiliates invest in companies which typically have the number one or two market position in their industry, long-term competitive advantages, and significant barriers to entry.
