About 700 garment workers of JMC- Vietnam struck work from March 28 to April 3, 2006 seeking justice and higher wages.

The Bac Giang province based company has reduced the salary below the prescribed government regulation level of VND710,000 per month.

Striking employees informed that they were forced to work 10-11 hours per day without any overtime compensation for past several months.

On the Monday morning (April 3, 2006), leaders of JMC-Vietnam met workers in a bid to solve the wage disparity, but no avail, sources said.
