Leading multi-channel retailer Sears Canada announced that Brent Hollister, President and Chief Executive Officer, is stepping down effective May 9, 2006 and will leave the Company and not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors.

On April 6, 2006, Sears Holdings Corporation announced that it had secured the minority shareholder support necessary to take Sears Canada from a publicly traded company to a private company.
