After China , Turkey is the second largest underwear manufacturer in world.

However, Turkish firms feel that they can sell more goods to Europe but the high manufacturing costs and wages will not allow the country to reach the top, view some industry insiders.

Hence, Turkish firms are trying to explore production sourcing from North Africa which is cheap and competitive.

Turkey's biggest underwear exporter firm Eko Textile with a turnover worth US $40 million, recently shifted one third of its manufacturing to Morocco finding valued Turkish Lira.

Eko Textile owner Ozcan Sumer states his company has plans to conduct feasibility studies about setting up a manufacturing centre in Morocco.

Eko Textile is the first Turkish company that started manufacturing and shipment of underwear products from a small facility in Morocco.

Considering its stable economy , Free Trade Agreement with USA, easement of access and low workforce expenses has all prompted Eko Textile to shift some of its manufacturing to Morocco opined Sumer.
