Italian textile firm to start operations in Warangal

An Italian company, Camozzi Textiles Limited has decided to start textile manufacturing operations in Andhra Pradesh.
The company plans to set up an export-oriented textile unit in the state with an initial investment of Rs 600 crore.
Ettore Camozzi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Camozzi Textiles led a delegation and met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and briefed him about their investment plans for the state.
The company plans to acquire about 250 acres in Warangal district, to set up the plant, the Government sources informed.
An industry of this size is coming up in Warangal district for first time.
Camozzi Textiles has asked for no other incentives from State Government except a SEZ status from Government of India. The company is ready to buy land on its own, sources said.
The State Government has prepared a comprehensive textile policy to provide incentives to new units such as subsidised power among other things.
While granting permission for setting up of the unit, the Chief Minister assured of all possible support for speedy implementation of the proposed textile project.
