New PP line opens at Reliance Industries Jamnagar plant

World's leading petrochemicals company Reliance Industries, has launched a new polypropylene (PP) line in Jamnagar, Gujarat State, Friday.
This will be the fourth line with an output of 280,000 tons per year.
Line though expected to start in November got bogged down twice due problems in sourcing propylene feedstock.
With the line going onstream, the total PP output of the company will cross over 1.7 million tons per year.
Jamnagar plant has additional capacity of producing 770,000 tons per year while Hazira unit in Sout Gujarat produces 430,000 tons per year.
Another company Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited located at Vadiodara has 300,000 tons per year capacity.
Sources say that PP fromt he new plant will enter international markets sometime in May with any abberation taking place in the Indian market pricesof the product.
