UBC Bearing Company landed to excel, says Cheema

Mushtaq Ali Cheema Minister of textile articulated that UBC Bearing Company of America Incorporation, a foremost name in bearings would set up manufacturing unit in Pakistan.

He had visited the booth of the company at International Garments and Textile Machinery and Accessories Exhibition (IGATEX) 2006 at Karachi Expo Centre.

He said the company had encouraging future prospects to invest in the country and the hoped the group would setup fabrication unit of its wide range of bearing.

Imran Shakoor Chief Executive Officer UBC Pakistan, said the company was established realizing the need for high quality, low cost bearings opportunities.

UBC is the first and only joint venture Company in Pakistan in the bearing industry and it is in possession of ISO 9001 certificate, ensuring uniform quality.

Shakoor said UBC product range includes textiles, sugar, cement, power, fertilizers, rowing, paper, agricultural equipment, chemicals and all other heavy industries.

Ian Robin UBC International's Export Manager said UBC was proud to commence itself in Pakistan.

He said after establishing the brand in 20 countries world wide, Pakistan seemed like the next reasonable location.

He said UBC's global customers included Daikin Air-conditioners, Hyster Forklifts, Suzuki Motorcycles, Isuzu Light Trucks, Sauer-Sundstrand, Hydraulic Piston and pump, Western Electric Motors, Emerson Electric, KSB Pumps, John Deere Tractors, Black and Decker, Tiger Motors, AMC-Jeep.

He said UBC seem to setup manufacturing facilities in the country based on local response.

UBC took business in Pakistan in June 2005 through its local presence UBC Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd.

UBC's involvement in IGATEX was the first of its kind and foremost by an American bearing company, which is participating in the fair.
