BSL Limited, one of the prominent members of the US$ 900 million LNJ Bhilwara Group, stood first in the textile sector energy conservation in Rajasthan during the year 2013-14.

At the Rajasthan government’s 5th Energy Conservation Award ceremony held in Jaipur, Pushpendra Singh, minister of state for energy, Rajasthan government, presented the award. On behalf of BSL, the award was received by Manoj Garg, GM (engineering) and AK Vyas, senior chief engineer.

The objective of the Energy Conservation Award is to give special state level recognition for the conscious and systematic efforts put in by the industries for conservation of energy.

Earlier in 2011, too, BSL stood second in the same category for energy saving.

Last year, BSL added an additional weaving unit and installed eight air jet looms and ancillary machineries for manufacturing of special fabric as per requirement of IKEA.

As per its tie up with IKEA, the new Weaving Unit II BSL will cater to IKEA’s specific fabric requirement of 3 lakh metres per month.

BSL currently produces over 18 million meters of fabric every year, including wool, wool-blended and premium lightweight fabrics, and wool modal, Trevira wool and other specialised fabrics blended with lycra, silk, linen, tencel, etc.
