Performance fibers appoints VP, Chief Information Officer

Performance Fibers Inc, one of the world's leading producers of industrial polyester, has named James A. Johnson II Vice President, Chief Information Officer to lead the company's global Information Technology group.
Johnson joins the Richmond-based company from Honeywell's Specialty Materials business group, where he served since 2000 in a number of IT leadership positions, including IT leader, IT Director for Business Process Enablement, and IT Director for Application Strategy and Delivery. Prior to that, he was an IT consultant for Renaissance Worldwide, a global IT and management consulting firm, and a specialist/programmer for Merrill Lynch.
At Performance Fibers, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., Johnson is responsible for developing strategy and providing solutions for the organization's global locations in North America, Asia and Europe.
“Along with his IT experience, James Johnson also has a deep understanding of our industry and the role of strategic IT solutions in our cyber-connected, global business, which will be a great asset as we continue our growth globally,” said Performance Fibers' President and CEO Greg Rogowski.

Johnson, a resident of Richmond, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia and a M.B.A. in Marketing and Strategic Management from the University of Maryland.
