Customers will be pleasantly surprised by the many new features Wal-Mart will have at the new Kearny store aimed to enhance the shopping experience and provide products and services that focus on specific needs and interests of the Kearny, Newark and New York communities.

The store will have 36 general merchandise departments including apparel and accessories, fine jewelry, a lawn and garden center, dry goods food department, health and beauty aids, and an expanded electronics department.

"We strive to be a store of the community and focus on local needs and preferences where we build new stores," said De La Rosa.

Due to its proximity to Newark and New York, the store also has additional time-saving services typically found in Wal-Mart Supercenters to provide one- stop shopping convenience -- especially helpful attribute for customers coming from a distance.

In its last fiscal year, Wal-Mart Stores Inc spent $10,548,074,577 for merchandise and services with 1,074 suppliers in the state of New Jersey. As a result of Wal-Mart's relationship with these suppliers, Wal-Mart supports 82,355 supplier jobs in the state of New Jersey.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc operates Wal-Mart discount stores, Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and SAM'S CLUB locations in the United States. It has operations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
