Saks Incorporated to open second Parisian store in Alabama

Construction on the location is expected to begin in spring 2007. The Parisian store will employ approximately 125 associates.
The High Pointe Town Center store will be Parisian's second metropolitan Montgomery, Alabama store. The company has operated a Parisian in the Eastdale Mall in Montgomery since 1977. It currently operates a total of 38 Parisian stores throughout the Southeast and Midwest, with 13 of those locations in Alabama. New Parisian stores are also slated for Birmingham, Alabama; Detroit, Michigan; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Rogers, Arkansas.
In addition to Parisian, Saks Incorporated operates Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises (SFAE), which consists of 54 Saks Fifth Avenue stores, 50 Saks Off 5th stores, and saks.com. It also operates 62 Club Libby Lu specialty stores. In January 2006, it announced it is exploring strategic alternatives for Parisian.
