Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores operates nearly 950 department stores and more than 700 bridal and formal wear stores in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.
Federated acquired St. Louis-based May Department Stores Co August 30, 2005 and is to launch the department store's new identity as Macy's Midwest by September, 9, 2006.
It will be recruiting about 4,700 people for its regional offices.
Shoppers will gain perks, other exclusive offers and discounts for merchandise purchased beginning August, 1.
Fashion shows, cooking demonstrations etc. also will be held in stores and around town.
