Brian Torpey's retirement as President of the four-store chain, will also see the shutting down of Boston Bedding, which has four outlets in Springfield, West Springfield, Northampton and East Windsor selling beds, furniture, waterbeds and other products.
Torpey attributed this move to migration of youth away from the locality and to 27 years he spent in retail business since it's opening in 1979.
The closing process is currently on and will be over by October.
