Chemical maker OMNOVA Solutions Inc reported net income of $5.3 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, for the second quarter ending May 31, 2006, compared to net income of $3.6 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2005.
Net sales decreased 2.2 percent, or $4.7 million, to $204.6 million for the second quarter of 2006 as compared to $209.3 million during the same period a year ago. Gross profit was $45.4 million, or 22.2 percent of net sales, in the second quarter of 2006 as compared to $45.5 million, or 21.7 percent of net sales, in the second quarter of 2005.
