Korea seeks JV with textile firms to fight Chinese competition

Daegu Gyeonbuk Textile Industries Association has encouraged industry to invest in Korea and develop collaborations with major firms.
Tae Jin Kim, General Manager (GM), believes that an Indian fabric with Korea's weaving techniques and designs will be a success.
Kim explained that with co-operation the countries would be able to cope with competitive pressures from China.
Association representing 3000 companies, called for the major Indian buyers and producers to participate in the 'Preview in Daegu 2007 (PID 2007)' that will be held from March 14 to 16 2007.
Since 2002, PID has been an annual event in March and in its sixth edition, around 230 groups would display synthetic knit fabrics, functional fabrics and natural dyed well-being materials, in 480 stalls to more than 13,600 visitors.
