Shaw Ind to close down its Georgia plant

After the closing of Avondale Mills operations in Tifton plant, Georgia, leaving eighty-nine people without jobs, now its Shaw industries planning to close its synthetic carpet yarn spinning facility, upsetting 228 employees out of work.

Members from the Georgia Department of Labor are meeting with Shaw Industries management to discuss options for those losing their jobs, as Shaw is the second major employer in the Tifton area to announce a closing.
