Nita develops strategy for Reliance Retail stores

Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani's wife Nita is playing a pivotal role in the making of Reliance retail outlets.

She will decide the entire branding exercise for the retail venture, the layout and design of each store and even the colour scheme to be adopted in the communication strategy for retail.

Nita will also supervise Reliance's sourcing model, based on rural business hubs (RBHs). The RBHs will be nodal points for procurement of fresh produce in addition to providing a host of services like education and healthcare to farmers.

Besides, she will have a direct interface with the 4.5 lakh people Reliance is to recruit to run the retail stores.

Meanwhile, Reliance is all set to roll out “Feel Fresh” and “Feel Fresh Plus” stores from Hyderabad next month.

The Feel Fresh stores spreading across 3,000-5,000 square feet will store fresh fruits, vegetables and staples such as wheat, atta, rice, etc.

Feel Fresh Plus stores will spread over 10,000-15,000 square feet, and stock fruit and vegetables as well as apparel, consumer electronics, FMCG items and even medicines.

Besides Hyderabad, Reliance has identified around 80 locations including Mumbai and Delhi for starting these stores.
