Baker, which offers furniture with enduring value and style in the signature classics, has recently opened its own freestanding furniture store in north suburban Deerfield, Chicago. This is the ninth international freestanding store owned by Baker.
The Deerfield store wears an elegant and urbane look with furniture mostly made in vignettes that mix styles, modern brown leather sofa, Seccionist-inspired black rattan furniture from Chicago-born designer Laura Kirar and sculptural lighting from Los Angeles-based Robert Kuo.
The store offers pieces from all 20 Baker collections including the historic collections and those from Baker's stable of current designers - Kirar, Bill Sofield and Jacques Garcia among them.
Shoppers also will be delighted to find special pieces previously available only at Baker Knapp & Tubbs designer showrooms, such as the lighting from Kuo and oversize resin tabletop pieces from Canada-based Martha Sturdy.
As for prices, sofas start at around $2,500 and go upto the range of $4,000 - $5,000 where selections are greater. Table lamp prices start from $350.
